the breastmilk to formula journey

There is so much I am thankful for. My kids are at the top of this list. I am so blessed to be on this journey of being their mom. And hellooooo! The journey of motherhood is no joke. For some, breast-feeding is difficult to navigate through. Maybe it’s the stress of having enough supply, maybe it’s not stress of there being enough, but maybe it’s figuring out what works best for you (maybe you’re a working mom?) and what’s best for you baby. So much mental and emotional health goes in to feeding our babies. I never knew it until my first, all the pressure, the unwelcome comments. I was fortunate to be able to breastfeed my firstborn until a little after her one year old birthday (my goal for each of my babies), but it took a lot of work, pumping and nursing around the clock. With my second, my milk supply was never an issue. Hallelujah! I couldn’t believe the feeling of it being so easy, physically, mentally and emotionally. I am so grateful for the contrast, feeling grateful for each experience because, I think, it made me appreciate it more the second time around. But in the last month with my then 11 month old, I all of a sudden had to start figuring out what formula to buy. Some things happened in my life that caused my milk supply to drop completely, almost instantly. Kendamil was an absolute no brainer. I saw the side-by-sides (click hashtag #kendamilcompared ) with all the big brand names, and the more boutique brand name formulas too. Kendamil is Euro made, made with whole milk fats. zero palm oils, zero soy, has HMOs and all the other good stuff! You’d be surprised that most formulas have palm oils and soy, and nothing nutritional or of value. We have a few more weeks left until my second’s first birthday, and then are plan is to transition to cows milk. But until then, I am SO thankful for Kendamil!
