It was wild to be in OKC for game 1 and game 2 of the NBA finals! Lucky for us, we have locals as besties to chill this trip out. This time around, we took the low-key route, hanging with friends, pool time > site seeing. I do recommend all the amazing museums like the OKC National Memorial & Museum (especially if you’re w/o kids) but here’s a a little breakdown of our favorites from this past trip:
📍5 nights Fordson Hotel – great staff, love their pool for the kids, comfortable-sized rooms, great location.
📍coffee/breakfast Stitch OKC
📍pool hangs Pool Bar & Bodega (Fordson Hotel)
📍HH, dinner, dessert // everything The Jones Assembly because duh, Chef Patrick Hart
📍Factory Obscura – mixtape – interactive art museum
📍SPARK delicious burgers and fries – get their pimento cheese burger (called the BLC) and “pink” fries.
📍Abe’s Campsite– more coffee, great mission
📍MaryEddys martinis+
We also went to Roxy’s Ice Cream on NW 16th (Plaza District) and walked around to see the colorful, bright murals!
We also hit up the OKC Farmers Market on Saturday! www.okcfarmersmarket.com
I’ve been to OKC without kids prior to this trip. I recommend going to the Oklahoma National Memorial Museum https://memorialmuseum.com if you have a chance. It is a bit somber, but incredibly impactful.
Summer is toasty there. We visited at the beginning of June, but was already hot and v humid. Keep this in mind for activities that are outdoors and/or traveling with littles and their levels of tolerance with heat.
Here are a few of my instagram reels highlighting the area:
